An Ordinance approving the award of Bid No. 2021-033, to purchase police uniforms and accessories on an as-needed basis for a one-year term with up to four, one-year renewals to Galls, LLC and authorizing the City Manager to execute the same for the City.
Key Issues:
-Staff in Police Department wear standardized uniforms while on duty.
-The contract will address the need to provide the standardized uniforms and other clothing items worn by the staff
Proposed City Council Motion:
FIRST MOTION: I move for second reading of an Ordinance approving the award of Bid No. 2021-033, to purchase police uniforms and accessories on an as-needed basis for a one-year term with up to four, one-year renewals to Galls, LLC and authorizing the City Manager to execute the same for the City.
SECOND MOTION: I move for adoption of an Ordinance approving the award of Bid No. 2021-033, to purchase police uniforms and accessories on an as-needed basis for a one-year term with up to four, one-year renewals to Galls, LLC and authorizing the City Manager to execute the same for the City.
Background:
The current contract expires at the end of January 2021
The City has used a competitively awarded contract for the purchase of Police uniforms and accessories for many years.
· Notification: 369 suppliers were notified via Public Purchase
· Access: 58 suppliers accessed the bid document via Public Purchase
· Responses: 3 suppliers submitted a bid
The Police Department procurement officer compared purchases made over the past two years to prices quoted in the supplier responses in order to obtain a clear understanding of pricing for items commonly purchased.
