Issue/Request:
An ordinance approving the dual award of Bid No. 2021-027, to purchase Security System Products and Services on an as-needed basis for a one-year term with up to four, one-year renewals to American Digital Security LLC and Kenton Brothers Locksmiths, Inc. and authorizing the City Manager to execute the same for the City of Lee's Summit, Missouri.
Key Issues:
-Several of the City's facilities currently have some sort of security camera systems from various manufacturers
-The contract will address the need to maintain current equipment and systems, replace equipment as it fails, and provide an avenue to install new systems or expand current systems with budgetary approval
Proposed City Council Motion:
FIRST MOTION: I move for second reading of an Ordinance approving the dual award of Bid No. 2021-027, to purchase Security System Products and Services on an as-needed basis for a one-year term with up to four, one-year renewals to American Digital Security LLC and Kenton Brothers Locksmiths, Inc. and authorizing the City Manager to execute the same for the City of Lee's Summit, Missouri.
SECOND MOTION: I move for adoption of an Ordinance approving the dual award of Bid No. 2021-027, to purchase Security System Products and Services on an as-needed basis for a one-year term with up to four, one-year renewals to American Digital Security LLC and Kenton Brothers Locksmiths, Inc. and authorizing the City Manager to execute the same for the City of Lee's Summit, Missouri.
Background:
The Police department is encouraging staff responsible for City facilities to standardize the security camera systems as they are added to allow for better support and coverage.
In the past, small security system installations were quoted, bid out, or purchased off of cooperative contracts. This has resulted in variety of manufactures and systems across the City.
The City issued a solicitation to put in place a contract that would provide staff responsible for City facilities the support and service they may need for existing systems and potential growth in the future.
With proper budgetary approval, Departments could use the contract for installation of new systems or expansion of current systems.
Impact/Analysis:
Use of this contract would be based on the annual appropriations approved by the City Council.
