Issue/Request:
An Ordinance approving the award of Bid No. 2021-025 for mowing services on an as-needed basis for a one-year term with up to four, one-year renewals to US Lawns of Kansas City, Inc. and authorizing the City Manager to execute the same by and on behalf of the City.
Key Issues:
The City's agreement (No. 2016-019/4R) for mowing services expires on February 28, 2021. The City solicited Bid No. 2021-025 for mowing and via its' e-bidding service Public Purchase and through the City's website. The advertisement sent to 29 suppliers were through Public Purchase, 23 suppliers accessed the bid document via Public Purchase.
Upon close of the Bid, November 30, 2020 the Procurement and Contract Services Division received two (2) responses. Using departments reviewed and accepted the submitted bids. The pricing sheet is attached. US Lawns of Kansas City was determined to be the lowest responsible responsive bid
Proposed Council Motion:
FIRST MOTION: I move for second reading of an Ordinance approving the award of Bid No. 2021-025 for mowing services on an as-needed basis for a one-year term with up to four, one-year renewals to US Lawns of Kansas City, Inc. and authorizing the City Manager to execute the same by and on behalf of the City.
SECOND MOTION: I move for adoption of an Ordinance approving the award of Bid No. 2021-025 for mowing services on an as-needed basis for a one-year term with up to four, one-year renewals to US Lawns of Kansas City, Inc. and authorizing the City Manager to execute the same by and on behalf of the City.
Background:
This contract is for use city wide for mowing services for approximately 100 sites. The frequency of mowing services is site specific as is the type of equipment required at each site.
This contract preceding this contract was also held by US Lawns of Kansas City and their performance on that contract was considered in the review of this contract.
This contract is also utilized by the Parks and Recreation Department. Approval of this contract will also be presented to the Parks Board.

Recommendation
Staff recommends approval of an Ordinance approving the award of Bid No. 2021-025 for mowing services on an as-needed basis for a one-year term with up to four, one-year renewals to US Lawns of Kansas City, Inc. and authorizing the City Manager to execute the same by and on behalf of the City.
Committee Recommendation
The Public Works Committee voted unanimously 4-0 to recommend to City Council approval of an Ordinance approving the award of Bid No. 2021-025 for mowing services on an as-needed basis for a one-year term with up to four, one-year renewals to US Lawns of Kansas City, Inc. and authorizing the City Manager to execute the same by and on behalf of the City.
