An Ordinance authorizing the execution of a Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission Amendment to State Block Grant Agreement, Amendment #3 for Project No. 15-109A-3 by and between the City of Lee's Summit, Missouri, and the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission, for extending the grant expiration date to December 31, 2021 for assisting with runway 18-36 reconstruction at the Lee's Summit Municipal Airport.
Key Issues:
• The Lee’s Summit Municipal Airport received a grant for $9,372,772.00
• The project is in the process of being closed out
• This amendment extends the grant expiration date from December 31, 2019 to December 31, 2021.

FIRST MOTION: I move for second reading of an Ordinance authorizing the execution of a Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission Amendment to State Block Grant Agreement, Amendment #3 for Project No. 15-109A-3 by and between the City of Lee's Summit, Missouri, and the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission, for extending the grant expiration date to December 31, 2021 for assisting with runway 18-36 reconstruction at the Lee's Summit Municipal Airport.
SECOND MOTION: I move for adoption of an Ordinance authorizing the execution of a Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission Amendment to State Block Grant Agreement, Amendment #3 for Project No. 15-109A-3 by and between the City of Lee's Summit, Missouri, and the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission, for extending the grant expiration date to December 31, 2021 for assisting with runway 18-36 reconstruction at the Lee's Summit Municipal Airport.
Background:
The Lee’s Summit Municipal Airport received a grant for $9,372,772.00 for the Runway 18-36 reconstruction. During the process of closing out the project, it was determined additional time was required to submit the final reimbursement request. This amendment extends the grant expiration date from December 31, 2019 to December 31, 2021. In order to close the project and received all available grant funds, this amendment must be approved by the City Council.
