**UPDATE - the Legislative and Intergovernmental Relations Committee met as schedule on November 16, 2020 and awarded bid #2021-008 to the Britton Group. The Committee recommended approval of the agreement for lobbyist services with this firm.
The City of Lee's Summit utilizes the services of a lobbyist to assist in tracking legislation of municipal concern and to promote the City's interests. The last time the City published a Request for Proposal (RFP) was in 2017. At that time the Britton Group was selected as the successful bidder. The Legislative and Intergovernmental Relations City Council Committee, sought bids and has reviewed the bids submitted. The FY 20/21 budget authorized $9,000 for this activity; however, both bids were in excess of this amount. It is anticipated that sufficient funds exist in the appropriate budget category such that a budget amendment is not required.
