An Ordinance Authorizing a First Amendment to the Intergovernmental Agreement for Confinement of Prisoners by and between the City of Lee’s Summit, Missouri and Andrew County, Missouri by and through the Andrew County Sheriff’s Office.
Background:
On August 4, 2020 the Council of the City of Lee’s Summit (hereinafter “City”) authorized the execution of an intergovernmental agreement for confinement of prisoners between the City of Lee’s Summit and Andrew County, Missouri by and through the Andrew County Sheriff’s Office (hereinafter "County"). As a part of that agreement, the County agreed upon a certain minimum level of required insurance coverage as requested by the City. Since that time, the County has informed the City that it is unable to provide the requested level of insurance coverage. The City and the County have thus agreed upon an acceptable level of coverage available to the County and seek to amend the intergovernmental agreement to reflect this agreed upon change in level of coverage.
The Amendment provides that the County will maintain an commercial general liability insurance with an unimpaired limit of not less than $2 million for each occurrence and a $5 million general aggregate limit.
Proposed City Council Motion:
FIRST MOTION: I move for a second reading of an Ordinance authorizing the execution of an Intergovernmental Agreement for confinement of prisoners by and between the City of Lee’s Summit, Missouri and Andrew County, Missouri by and through the Andrew County Sheriff’s Office.
