I move for adoption of An Ordinance awarding the bid for Project No. 344-C for the South Terminal Discharge Main project to Beemer Construction Co., Inc. in the amount of $1,516,590.50, and authorizing the City Manager to execute an agreement for the same.

Background:
This water main project is identified in the CIP and Water Master Plan. The project consists of the installation of approximately 2700 linear feet of 36-inch restrained joint ductile iron pipe from the South Terminal Pump Station east and south to connect to an existing main on SW Scherer Road. This construction will create a redundant connection to South Terminal Pump Station, strengthening the system and reducing pressure and velocity in the water supply system. This is necessary to account for increased demand as the city continues to grow.
The total project budget is $1,812,000.00 funded from the Water Tap Fund. Beemer Construction Co., Inc.'s bid is 6.8% lower than the engineer's estimate of $1,627,298.00. Based on r...
