City Facility Adjustments in Response to COVID-19

Background:
In response to COVID-19, several additional mitigation steps will be undertaken at multiple City Facilities. The projects are being undertaken to reduce the number of touch points in a facility, improve air quality, improve sanitation capabilities, and promote safe interaction between employees and the public. The Facilities Related COVID-19 Response Projects include:
City Hall:
• Touchless Entry
o Sliding entry doors at the north and south entrance
o Wave plate installation for touchless entry on the east doors
o Foot operated door openers for restroom doors
• Employee and Customer Interaction Safeguards
o Permanent and semi-permanent glass installation at open counters

o Lobby stairwell glass enclosure with key card access and lock controls
o Elevator key card access
• Air Quality Upgrades
o Installation of air purifiers on the existing HVAC system
• Sanitation Improvements
o Installation of under sink water heaters for handwashing
• Touchless Surface Improvements
o Touchless light switch installation
o Touchless ADA water fountains
Maintenance Facility:
• Touchless Entry
o Wave plate installation at main entrance
o Foot operated door openers for restroom doors
• Air Quality Upgrades
o Installation of Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) HVAC System to create individual airflow zones
• Sanitation Improvements
o Installation of under sink water heaters for handwashing
• Touchless Surface Improvements
o Touchless ADA Water Fountains
o Touchless Faucets in restrooms
Fire Stations:
• Air Quality Upgrades
o Installation of VRF HVAC Systems to create individual airflow zones

o Vestibule remodel to help prevent public from waking into conference room area

Impact/Analysis:
All projects are being funding through and are in conformance with the CARES Act Funding allocation received from Jackson County.
