Title
An Ordinance approving Amendments to Section 26-211 of the City Code, regarding insurance requirements for work in City Right-Of-Way and on City Property. (PWC 9/16/20)

Body
Issue/Request:
This Ordinance will consolidate amendments to Section 26-211 that were previously approved by the City Council on two occasions in 2020, dealing with insurance requirements which must be met by persons doing work on City right-of-way and on City property.

Key Issues:
Consolidation of prior amendments to Section 26-211 to improve the section dealing with the City’s standard insurance requirements which must be met by persons doing work on City right-of-way and on City property.

Proposed City Council Motion:
FIRST MOTION: I move for a second reading of an Ordinance approving Amendments to Section 26-211 of the City Code, regarding insurance requirements for work in City Right-Of-Way and on City Property.

SECOND MOTION: I move for adoption of an Ordinance approving Amendments to Section 26-211 of the City Code, regarding insurance requirements for work in City Right-Of-Way and on City Property.

Background:
Section 26-211 of the City Code, dealing with insurance requirements for work in City right-of-way and on City property, was amended by Ordinance No. 8855 which was approved on April 14, 2020, and was amended again by Ordinance No. 8895 which was approved on June 9, 2020. The second set of amendment to Section 26-211 by Ordinance No. 8895 did not account for the amendments to the same Section that were caused by Ordinance No. 8855 because the amendments in Ordinance No. 8855 had not yet been published on-line by Municode, which is the codification service that publishes the City Code and all amendments thereto.

Impact/Analysis:
This will consolidate prior amendments to this City Code section. This is primarily a clean-up Ordinance.

Timeline:
This Ordinance is needed to promptly consolidate the prior two amendments to Section 26-211.
