Issue/Request:
An Ordinance awarding the bid for Project No. 324-20/21 (Crack Seal) for the Crack Seal 20/21 Program to American Pavement Solutions, Inc. in the amount of $218,700.00, and authorizing the City Manager to execute an agreement for the same.
Key Issues:
· Pavement crack sealing is a vital part of the City's Pavement Maintenance Program.
· Timely application of the correct type of maintenance has been shown to extend the life of a pavements.
· Crack sealing minimizes the probability of potholes by sealing cracks greater than 1/8", protecting the pavement sub-grade from excessive moisture.
· The 20/21 Crack Seal project will seal cracks along 54.5 lane miles of road.
· American Pavement Solutions, Inc. was found to be the lowest and best bidder.
Proposed City Council Motion:
FIRST MOTION: I move for a second reading of an Ordinance awarding the bid for Project No. 324-20/21 (Crack Seal) for the Crack Seal 20/21 Program to American Pavement Solutions, Inc. in the amount of $218,700.00, and authorizing the City Manager to execute an agreement for the same.
SECOND MOTION: I move for adoption of an Ordinance awarding the bid for Project No. 324-20/21 (Crack Seal) for the Crack Seal 20/21 Program to American Pavement Solutions, Inc. in the amount of $218,700.00, and authorizing the City Manager to execute an agreement for the same.
