Body
Issue/Request:
An Ordinance approving the use of a Cooperative Contract between Jackson County, Missouri and Kenton Brothers, Inc., to purchase Locksmith and Security System services and supplies as needed and authorizing the City Manager to execute the same for and on behalf of the City.

Key Issues:
-The City uses the services of a locksmith for vehicles and facilities and security system services and supplies for facilities.
-The City currently is using the piggyback contract with Kenton Brothers, 2017-131.
-The City anticipates spending more than $50,000.00 in the next fiscal year; per section 6.1 of the Procurement Policy, if the annual spend on a contract may exceed $50,000.00 then the contract is brought to Council for approval.

Background:
The City has used the Kenton Brothers Inc. contract with Jackson County for several years with an average spend around $10,000.00 annually. Additional departments are utilizing the services of the contract which is driving up the annual spend. Prior to contract expiration the City will need to determine if a City solicitation should be issued or continue to piggy back on the Jackson County contract.

Proposed City Council Motion:
I move for adoption of an Ordinance approving the use of a Cooperative Contract between Jackson County, Missouri and Kenton Brothers, Inc., to purchase Locksmith and Security System services and supplies as needed and authorizing the City Manager to execute the same for and on behalf of the City.
