An Ordinance authorizing the execution of a License Agreement between the Lee's Summit R-7 School District and the City of Lee's Summit, Missouri, for the installation and maintenance of a private low pressure sanitary service in the City's Rights-Of-Way on the east side of Smart Road, south of Oldham Parkway

Key Issues:
This is the implementation step of the annexation that was previously approved by the City Council for the Woodland Elementary School.

Proposed City Council Motion:
I move for adoption of an Ordinance authorizing the execution of a License Agreement between the Lee's Summit R-7 School District and the City of Lee's Summit, Missouri, for the installation and maintenance of a private low pressure sanitary service in the City's Rights-Of-Way on the east side of Smart Road, south of Oldham Parkway

Background:
The Lee's Summit R-7 School District filed a petition for voluntary annexation on August 6, 2019. The proposal includes the right-of-way for Smart Road along the frontage of the Woodland Elementary school property. The school currently utilizes a private sewage treatment/disposal system for sanitary sewer. The school’s intent is to construct and connect a low-pressure sewer system to the Lee’s Summit sanitary system. The low-pressure sewer system is proposed to be owned and maintained by the Lee's Summit R-7 School District.
