Proposed Council Motion:
FIRST MOTION: I move for second reading of an Ordinance authorizing the Mayor to execute an Intergovernmental Agreement by and between the City of Lee's Summit, Missouri, by and through the Lee's Summit Parks and Recreation Board and the Mid Continent Public Library for Cultural Arts Programming entitled "A Christmas Carol."
SECOND MOTION: I move for adoption of an Ordinance authorizing the Mayor to execute an Intergovernmental Agreement by and between the City of Lee's Summit, Missouri, by and through the Lee's Summit Parks and Recreation Board and the Mid Continent Public Library for Cultural Arts Programming entitled "A Christmas Carol."
Background:
Lee's Summit Parks and Recreation and the Mid-Continent Public Library have agreed to partner in providing a special reading of "A Christmas Carol." The event will be held at the Gamber Community Center on November 11, 2018. LSPR has agreed to provide the event space and related amenities, and MCPL has agreed to provide refreshments and the special guest speaker for the event. Neither entity will have any additional fees or charges related to the event. The parties have drafted an Agreement which outlines the terms and conditions associated with the event.
Because Mid Continent Public Library is a political subdivision, RSMo. ยง 70.220.3 requires that the Agreement between LSPR and MCPL...
