AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 2. ADMINISTRATION, ARTICLE II. COUNCIL, DIVISION 3. STANDING COMMITTEES, SECTIONS 2-51 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF LEE’S SUMMIT FOR THE PURPOSE OF EXPANDING THE ROLE OF THE ALTERNATE FOR A PERIOD OF ONE YEAR. (Rules 5/22/17)

At the last meeting of the Rules Committee, Staff was directed to prepare an ordinance allowing the alternate on any given committee to be a replacement for either the third or the fourth member of the committee. This ordinance makes that Change and allows the alternate to participate and vote as either the third or fourth member of the committee. Additionally, the Rules Committee requested that staff include a sunset provision in the ordinance. The new provision would become effective on July 1, 2017 and remain in effect for one year unless extended or made permanent by the City Council.

FIRST MOTION: I move for second reading of AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 2. ADMINISTRATION, ARTICLE II. COUNCIL, DIVISION 3. STANDING COMMITTEES, SECTIONS 2-51 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF LEE’S SUMMIT FOR THE PURPOSE OF EXPANDING THE ROLE OF THE ALTERNATE FOR A PERIOD OF ONE YEAR.
SECOND MOTION: I move for adoption of AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 2. ADMINISTRATION, ARTICLE II. COUNCIL, DIVISION 3. STANDING COMMITTEES, SECTIONS 2-51 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF LEE’S SUMMIT FOR THE PURPOSE OF EXPANDING THE ROLE OF THE ALTERNATE FOR A PERIOD OF ONE YEAR.
