Introduction to the Communities For All Ages Program

Issue/Request:
This is a recognition program sponsored by and through Mid America Regional Council that will provide recognition for communities that have taken steps to become more welcoming to residents of all ages and, in the process, more vibrant, healthy and prosperous. Cathy Boyer-Shesol with MARC will be make a presentation on the recognition program and what is involved in becoming age friendly and choosing to become a Community for All Ages.
Key Issues:
If the City Council wishes to pursue this recognition, staff will prepare and bring back a resolution supporting the KC Communities for All Ages Recognition Program for adoption at the next Council Meeting.
Proposed City Council Motion:
I recommend staff prepare a resolution of support for the KC Communities for All Ages Recognition Program.
