Title

An Ordinance authorizing the purchase of one Water Department service truck using current equipment contracts for the purchase for a total cost of $237,739.00 and authorizing the City Manger to execute all related and necessary documents by and on behalf of the City of Lee's Summit, Missouri.

 

Body


The Fleet Division in cooperation with the Water Operations Division has recognized the need to replace the current service truck which has reached the useful life-cycle.

 

Ordering the cab and sis from Rush Truck LS contract #2025-044-7, Coop with Johnson County KS Metro Joint Vehicle bid model year 2025, & WD contract #SCOn-1440 and ordering the equipment from American Equipment LS contract #2023-016-1 Coop with City of KC #EV2959-1 Fabrication install and repair of truck mounted equipment, & WD contract #SCON-1072, not to exceed $237,739.00.

 

The Fleet Manager, the Department Director and the City Manger seek approval from the City Council to use these existing purchasing contracts and previously authorized FY26 budget approved by the City Council.  The funding has been identified for the purchase of this unit in the City Council approved Fleet VERP FY26 Budget and adopted FY 26 Budget and Section 4 of the Procurement Policy requires City Council approval for the purchase over $75,000 even though the Council has previously approved the purchase contracts, budget and expenditures.

 

Recommendation

Staff recommends the purchase of one service truck for $237,739.00 and recommends the City Manager to execute such documents as may be necessary or desirable to carry our and comply with the intent of this Ordinance.
