I move for adoption of an Ordinance approving a Mutual Aid Agreement between the City of Lee's Summit, Missouri and the Board of Police Commissioners of Kansas City, Missouri related to law enforcement services provided in support of FIFA World Cup 2026 Activities in the Kaunas City Metropolitan area, and authorizing the Mayor to execute the same.
Impact/Analysis:
The proposed agreements provide the legal and administrative framework necessary for Lee’s Summit Police Department personnel to support FIFA World Cup 2026 operations while allowing reimbursement for eligible overtime and associated operational expenses. Compensation for mutual aid assistance pursuant to this Agreement shall be provided for as agreed upon between the City and KC2026 in a separate agreement titled "Mutual Aid Payment Agreement" executed by the City Manager.
