Issue/Request:
Approval of a Real Estate Sale Agreement between the City of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, and RTC Real Estate LLC and Excel Holdings LLC for the Purchase of Property by the City for the Airport and Fire Station #8.
Key Issues:
- The acquisition of land for the Airport located adjacent to Airport property south of Strother Road and west of Hagan Road was identified in the Airport Master Plan and Airport Business Plan.
- The same property was identified as a desired location for Fire Station #8. Fire Station #8 will include an aircraft rescue and fire fighting facility and public facing fire service.
- Funding to acquire the subject property was included in the April 2023 No Tax Increase Bond Issue approved by voters.
- The property was voluntarily listed by the sellers. The City completed an appraisal.
- The City successfully negotiated a purchase price of the property with budget.

I move for approval of an Ordinance approving the Real Estate Sale Agreement between the City of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, and RTC Real Estate LLC and Excel Holdings LLC for the Purchase of Property by the City for the Airport and Fire Station #8.
Background:
The Airport Master Plan identified land contiguous to the Airport located south of Strother Road and west of Hagan Road as future Airport property. The Airport Business Plan identified the need for an Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) facility. The Comprehensive Plan identifies the land as future Airport.
