Title

Presentation: The American Public Works Association (APWA) on Water Utilities Accreditation.

Body

Issue/Request:

Presentation by The American Public Works Association (APWA) on Water Utilities Accreditation.

Key Issues:

By achieving this accreditation, Water Utilities has not only met but exceeded the stringent criteria set forth by APWA, ensuring that their practices align with the best in the industry. In addition, the Water Utilities Department was recognized for eleven model practices. This recognition is especially significant as it places practices in the nationwide Library of Model Practices as an example for all agencies to follow, this is a testament to the department's outstanding contributions to the field.

Background:

The Water Utilities Department has been granted accreditation by the American Public Works Association (APWA). Water Utilities now joins the ranks of our other accredited departments in the city (Police, Fire, PW and Parks) and have moved the city to being a select few in Missouri with five accredited departments. This accreditation is a testament to the dedication and hard work of the entire team at Lee's Summit Water.
