Body

Issue/Request:

An Ordinance approving Amendment No. 1 to the budget for the Fiscal Year ending June 30, 2025, as adopted by Ordinances 9936, 9937, 9938, 9939, and 9940, by amending the authorized expenditures for the City.

Key Issues:

-City departments issue purchase orders to suppliers for materials, equipment, and services as authorized by the Mayor and Council with the approval of the fiscal year budget

-Do to supply chain issues and backup in production, some items and materials did not arrive before the end of the fiscal year but are still needed by the departments

-Project contracts typically cross fiscal years as the work is performed over a period of time

-This amendment increases the spending authority as needed for certain departments in the FY25 Budget to pay for the materials, equipment, and services as they are received and not impact the planned expenditures for FY25

-The identified money becomes classified as "assigned" when calculating the year ending fund balance

-One approved expansion item was omitted from a department's budget, this amendment adds the spending authority to the department
