Issue/Request:

This ordinance authorizes the purchase of property owned by Harris Investments Inc. generally located at the Northeast corner of SE Main and SE 4th in Lee's Summit.

 

 

Proposed City Council Motions:

MOTION:  I move for adoption of an ordinance approving the Contract for Purchase of Real Estate for property generally described as Tract XI, Lots 27, 28 and 29, Block 2, original town of Lee's Summit (fka Town of Strother), a subdivision of Lee’s Summit, Jackson County, Missouri, by and between Harris Investments Inc. and the City of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, and authorizing the Mayor to execute the same.

 

Background:

Harris Investments Inc. contacted the City and expressed their interest in selling the referrence property and proposed terms of purchase. City Council authorized staff to make a counteroffer. Seller accepted the counteroffer and the terms are included in the attached Contract for Purchase of Real Estate. The City's interest in purchasing this property is for the potential construction of a public improvement project.
