The deadline for candidate filing was Friday, August 21, 2026 at 5:00pm. There were six filings for this vacancy. In accordance with the process outlined and approved by the City Council, "At its regular meeting Tuesday, September 1, 2026, the City Council will review the applications and make reasonable efforts to reach a consensus on narrowing the applicant pool to no more than five finalists."

Finalists will proceed to participate in the Candidate forum and final selection process at the September 8, 2026 City Council meeting in accordance with the established process approved by the City Council.
