Issue/Request:
An Ordinance awarding the bid for Project No. 43331883-C for the Water Tower Re-Coatings: Scherer and Woods Chapel Project to Worldwide Industries Corp. in the amount of $888,382.00 and authorizing the City Manager to execute an agreement for the same.
Key Issues:
? The City maintains four water towers, one stand pipe, and four ground storage reservoirs to provide potable water services to the customers of Lee’s Summit Water Utilities.
? These towers and tanks are protected from internal and external corrosion with epoxy coating systems.
? Recent inspections of the elevated water tanks at Woods Chapel Road and Scherer Drive need re-coating (hereinafter "Project No. 43331883-C").
? Project No. 43331883-C is funded from the Water ERP Fund.
? Water Utilities issued an advertisement for bids for the construction of Project No. 43331883-C on December 14, 2021, in accordance with local policies and state statutes.
? Worldwide Industries Corp. (hereinafter "Contractor") was determined to be the lowest and best bidder by City staff.
? The City desires to enter into an agreement with the Contractor to perform the services for Project No. 43331883-C.
