Continued Discussion: Potential of Federal Lobbyist

Staff was asked to prepare additional information related to the acquisition of Federal Lobbying services. Please find attached some data showing the area cities who utilize federal lobbyist services and the costs. You will note a wide variety of costs. This is likely due to a differing scopes of services with some being more broad than others. There are two documents attached, one is the entire listing of Cities around the Country that utilize lobbyists as reported to the U.S. House of Representatives, in the second document you will find Missouri and Kansas cities and authorities that utilize those services.
Update 9-15-25 - At this time staff does not have an update pending the receipt of further information.
Update 11-20-2025: Staff has some additional new information related to this and will provide a verbal update.
Update 1-8-26: Staff received the proposal from the lobbyist and has attached a contract amendment and supporting documentation in the event the Committee wishes to recommend approval of this item to the City Council.
