This presentation is a brief introduction and welcome to City of the new Executive Director of the Lee's Summit Housing Authority (LSHA).
Erik Berg joined the LSHA in May as Executive Director. As Executive Director of the Housing Authority of the City of Lee's Summit, Missouri, he is tasked with leading all aspects of the organization, including administering current programs, development of new housing options according to their current Five Year Strategic Plan, and financial and personnel management. Mr. Berg has a Master's Degree in City, Community, and Regional Planning and previously worked with the Missouri Housing Development Commission and Builders Development Coorporation.
We would like to introduce Mr. Berg to the City Council and our community. He will play an important role in our work to serve community housing needs.
Background:
The Housing Authority of the City of Lee’s Summit is a political subdivision of the State of Missouri as defined under Missouri Revised Statutes Chapter 99 Municipal Housing. The Housing Authority is funded by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development for the administration of affordable housing programs in Lee’s Summit and Jackson County Missouri. LSHA has been rated by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) as a "High Performing" housing authority.
Public housing was established to provide decent and safe rental housing for eligible low-income families, the elderly and persons with disabilities. LSHA owns and manages the properties and enforces the leases. There are 116 units in the public housing residential communities Duncan Estates and Lea Haven.
