Presentation: Final Report on Diversity and Inclusion Community Assessment

Issue/Request:
City Council will be presented the findings of the Community Assessment conducted by Hicks-Carter-Hicks. This is an initial step towards the "Issue Identification Report" required to be prepared by the Diversity and Inclusion Commission.
Background:
Resolution 21-01 as amended by 21-17, stated the Diversity and Inclusion Commission will prepare an Issue Identification Report assessing the community as it relates to diversity and inclusion matters. An initial step towards the Issue Identification Report was to conduct an assessment study based upon accepted research practices. The City of Lee's Summit authorized Hicks-Carter-Hicks to conduct the community assessment, as well as a review of the City's organizational culture, practices and policies. Hicks-Carter-Hicks will be present at the meeting to review the attached written findings with the City Council.
Impact/Analysis:
The findings of this report will be used as a component of a larger body of work by the Diversity and Inclusion Commission as they build their "Issue Identification Report" that will utlimately be presented to the City Council.
