1. Summary of Master Plan Update
• Set aside land for future parks and trails prior to development or as part of the development process
• Create destination parks, accessible parks, and desired facilities and programming as part of an economic development strategy
• Create city parks as “entrance” parks into regional parks and trails
• Create unique facilities and programming in partnership with other agencies and adjacent to existing facilities
• Connecting parks to each other and activity centers with trails
• Preserve Lee’s Summit’s high value resources for enjoyment by future generations
• Maintain existing parks, facilities, and trails to ensure industry standards are met
• Ensure funding sources and levels are diverse, sustainable, and meet the needs of the community
