Issue/Request:
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF LEE’S SUMMIT, MISSOURI expressing the assent of the City to the annexation by the City of Blue Springs, Missouri of a certain portion of Route U.S. Highway 40.
Key Issues:
City staff is in receipt of a request from the City of Blue Springs, Missouri related to the annexation of Indigo Hills subdivision near the current City limits of the City of Blue Springs. In order to annex this property, Blue Springs must also seek the annexation of a portion of U.S. Highway 40. The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission requires that any City within five (5) miles of the proposed annexation area provide a letter indicating that such city has no objection to the annexation and that there is no controversy related to the annexation. City staff has reviewed the proposal and has no objections to it nor is staff aware of any controversy.
Proposed City Council Motion:
I move for the adoption of A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF LEE’S SUMMIT, MISSOURI expressing the assent of the City to the annexation by the City of Blue Springs, Missouri of a certain portion of Route U.S. Highway 40.
