Key Issues
· The Independence School District (ISD) procured this contract as per the rules and regulations of the State of Missouri; ServePro was awarded the contract.
· The City of Lee's Summit has executed a piggyback service contract (2025-005) for the same and it is up for renewal
· The demolition and replacement of Fire Station 1 requires temporary relocation of one fire brigade and Old Water Operations is an ideal location as it can house firefighters and apparatuses in a location that allows the brigade to continue providing services in its designated service area
· This project is funded by the 2023 NTIB bond program.
Propose Committee Motion:
I move to recommend forwarding for approval to the City Council an Ordinance authorizing the renewal and use of a piggyback service contract (2025-005) between the Independence School District and ServPro of Lee's Summit for the renovation of the Old Water Operations building as a temporary fire station related to the replacement of Fire Station 1 in the amount of $993,432.78 and authorizing the City Manager to execute an agreement for the same.
