Title
An Ordinance approving an Intergovernmental agreement to provide certain services to Inter-City Fire Protection District by the City of Lee's Summit, Missouri.

Body
Issue/Request:
This agreement will allow the City to provide emergency communication and dispatch services to Inter-City Fire Protection District. The Fire Department was approached by representatives of Inter-City Fire Protection District to provide these services, to which the terms are included in the attachments in Exhibit A, Scope of Services. If approved this agreement will go into effect on July 21, 2025 at which time the Lee's Summit Fire Communications Center will begin providing emergency communication and dispatch services for Inter-City Fire Protection District.

Key Issues:
With the approval of this agreement the City of Lee's Summit will assume the responsibility of providing dispatch services and will resultantly be compensated at the rate applied in Exhibit B, Fee Structure.

Proposed City Council Motion:
I move to recommend to City Council for approval of an Ordinance approving an Intergovernmental agreement to provide certain services to Inter-City Fire Protection District by the City of Lee'sSummit, Missouri, and authorizing the Mayor to execute any and all documents on behalf of the City for the same.

Background:
Inter-City had previously been provided these services by the Kansas City Fire Department, however that contract was terminated by KCFD which required Inter-City Fire Protection District to obtain these services by another provider. This agreement is the result of their need to find another vendor.

Impact/Analysis:
This agreement will result in a relatively minor impact on the capacity within the Lee's Summit Fire Department Dispatch center. This agreement will also remain in effect until terminated by either party, as listed in Exhibit A, Scope of Services.

Timeline:
Start: July 21, 2025
Finish: Upon termination of agreement.
