Discussion: Filling Charter Vacancy

Issue / Request:
At a recent Council Meeting, Councilmember Shields requested that the question of how to replace a Commissioner for the Charter Review Commission in the event of a vacancy. Staff has drafted a suggested revision to the ordinance appointing the members of the Commission. Addition, in the current circumstance we know with certainty that a vacancy will be created. The attached resolution also gives authorization and establishes the procedure for the appointment of an alternate member of the Commission. This resolution certainly is not final and is provided as a beginning point for discussion.
