Issue/Request:
The Jackson County, Missouri County Executive has recommended, and the County Legislature has approved, appropriations from the County's undesignated fund balance for municipalities to utilize toward community projects and infrastructure needs. The City of Lee's Summit appropriation is $150,000 and is proposed to be utilized toward the purchase of playground equipment for the all-inclusive playground located at the Joseph A. Dyke playground in Legacy Park. Lee's Summit Parks and Recreation plans to expand the playground and the funds provided by Jackson County will ensure the full build out of the expansion which is scheduled to start in the fall of 2026.
Key Issues:
By entering into this Intergovernmental Agreement, the Lee's Summit Parks and Recreation Department will receive funding from Jackson County, Missouri to purchase playground equipment for the all-inclusive playground expansion at the Joseph A. Dyke playground. Staff has reviewed the agreement and has no concerns with entering into the agreement and utilizing the appropriated funds.

I move for adoption of an Ordinance approving an Intergovernmental Agreement with Jackson County, Missouri for the acceptance of a $150,000 appropriation to be utilized for the purchase of playground equipment for the all-inclusive playground expansion at the Joseph A. Dyke playground at Legacy Park.
