A Resolution approving the appointment of a director to the board of directors of the I-470 Western Gateway Transportation Development District.
Key Issues:
Approval of the proposed Resolution will appoint the City’s second member to the Board of Directors of the I-470 Western Gateway Transportation Development District (TDD) for the Paragon Star project.
Proposed City Council Motion:
I move for adoption of a Resolution approving the appointment of a director to the board of directors of the I-470 Western Gateway Transportation Development District.
Background:
Pursuant to Section 238.220.3(1) of the TDD Act, the Board of Directors of the District consists of the presiding officer of each local transportation authority within the District (which will be the Mayor for the City) and one person designated by the governing body of each local transportation authority within the District.
The City is a local transportation authority as defined by the TDD Act and therefore needs to appoint one additional person to the TDD Board. Bette Wordelman, Finance Director, was previously the person appointed for this type of position, and staff now recommends Michael Park be appointed to this position as the Director of Public Works.
