Issue/Request:
An Ordinance awarding the bid for Project No. 1004 for the I-470 Bore - St. Luke’s to Colbern Road Project to Redford Construction, Inc. in the amount of $795,070.00, and authorizing the City Manager to execute an agreement for the same.
Key Issues:
To eliminate two pump stations, one publicly owned and one privately owned, by installing a gravity sewer main.
The gravity sewer will be installed from the Douglas Pump Station to north of I-470 and consists of approximately 450 linear feet of 12” diameter pipe, including a jack-and-bore 24” casing pipe under I-470. The north end shall be connected to the future Discovery Park sanitary collection sewer infrastructure.
Project No. 1004 is funded by the Sewer Construction Fund and the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) Wastewater Legislative Priority grant funds.
Water Utilities issued a bid for Project No. 1004 on August 26, 2024, in accordance with local policies and state statutes. Bids were opened on September 25, 2024.
Redford Construction, Inc. (hereinafter “Contractor”) was determined to be the lowest and most responsible and responsive bidder by City staff.
The requested amount is for the amount of $795,070.00.
The City desires to enter into an agreement with the Contractor to construct Project No. 1004.

I move to recommend to the City Council approval of an Ordinance awarding the bid for Project No. 1004 for the I-470 Bore - St. Luke’s to Colbern Road Project to Redford Construction, Inc. in the amount of $795,070.00, and authorizing the City Manager to execute an agreement for the same.
