Title

An Ordinance repealing Ordinance No. 10107 related to the Schedule of Fees and Charges for the City of Lee's Summit and establishing a new Schedule of Fees and Charges to take effect July 1, 2026 for the City of Lee's Summit, Missouri.

Body

Issue/Request:

An Ordinance repealing Ordinance No. 10107 related to the Schedule of Fees and Charges for the City of Lee's Summit and establishing a new Schedule of Fees and Charges to take effect July 1, 2026 for the City of Lee's Summit, Missouri.

Key Issues:

Annual update of the Schedule of Fees aligns with the new fiscal year beginning July 1, 2026

-Airport - most changes are in alignment with increases per the annual CPI, 2.7% or adjustments to align with the market

-Development Service is requesting to add one new fee for providing services for minor modifications that do not require City Council review

-Police is requesting an increase in the rate charged to outside organizations for special detail services because of the increase in cost from the new labor agreement

-Water Utilities has increases for their water and sewer tap fees as well as the water and sewer rates for January 1, 2030.  The annual public hearing for sewer rates is set for the March 10 City Council meeting

-Flat fees that were not updated by departments have a 3% increase applied as it has been one or more years since they were increased
