Issue/Request:
An Ordinance awarding the bid for Project No. 97831683 for the Cathodic Protection Program FY25 to Kantex Industries, Inc. in the amount of $1,001,796.00 and authorizing the City Manager to execute an agreement for the same.
Key Issues:
? Ductile iron water mains were installed in the various project areas from the 1970's to the 1990's.
? Due to corrosion of iron pipe, frequent water main breaks have occurred in these areas.
? To reduce the rate of corrosion and extend the service life of the water mains in these areas, 913 zinc anodes will be installed as part of this year's Cathodic Protection Program (hereinafter "Project No. 97831683").
? Water Utilities issued an advertisement for bids for the construction of Project No. 97831683 on October 16, 2025, in accordance with local policies and state statutes.
? Kantex Industries, Inc. (hereinafter "Contractor") was found to be the lowest and most responsive bidder by City staff.
? The City desires to enter into an agreement with the Contractor to construct Project No. 97831683.

I move to recommend to the City Council approval of an Ordinance awarding the bid for Project No. 97831683 for the Cathodic Protection Program FY25 to Kantex Industries, Inc. in the amount of $1,001,796.00 and authorizing the City Manager to execute an agreement for the same.
