An Ordinance approving the award of Bid No. 2026-011 for the purchase of asphalt base and surface materials for an initial term of one year, with up to four, one-year renewals, to Vance Brothers, Inc. and authorizing the City Manager to execute an agreement for the same.
Key Issues:
- Public Works provides maintenance to infrastructure that requires the purchase of asphalt base and surface materials.
- Public Works utilizes a pothole crew daily for proactive and reactive pothole repairs in the street and curb and gutter.
- Public Works utilizes larger crews that perform repairs on roadways including milling and replacing deteriorating asphalt surface material and complete removal and replacement of base and surface asphalt.
- Public Works also purchases other materials from the supplier used in roadway repairs.
Proposed Committee Motion:
I move to recommend to City Council an Ordinance approving the award of Bid No. 2026-011 for the purchase of asphalt base and surface materials for an initial term of one year, with up to four, one-year renewals, to Vance Brothers, Inc. and authorizing the City Manager to execute an agreement for the same.
Background:
Vance Brothers was the lowest and best bid. Vance Brothers has been the City's supplier of asphalt base and surface materials in the past and there were no issues with past performance.
