Title

Issue/Request:

The State of Missouri, by way of House Bill 2020 Section 20.1231, Fiscal Year 2025 appropriated $1,500,000.00 for the City of Lee's Summit to help fund the planning, design, and construction of the new Joint Operations Facility.  The terms of the agreement are found in the attachment listed Exhibit "A" which states when the City has spent the like amount toward the Joint Operations Facility and those documents are provided to the State, the appropriated funds will be released to the City.

 

 

Proposed Committee Motion

I move to recommend to City Council for approval of an Ordinance approving an agreement between the City of Lee's Summit and the Missouri Department of Public Safety for the City's acceptance of appropriated funds in the amount of $1,500,000 for the planning, design, and construction of an emergency operations facility pursuit to House Bill 2020, Section 20.1.2.3.1, Fiscal Year 2025 and authorizing the Mayor to execute any and all documents on behalf of the City for the same.

A motion was made by Councilmember Carlyle, seconded by Councilmember DeMoro, that TMP-3137 be recommended for approval to the City Council. The motion carried by a unanimous 4-0 vote.
