A RESOLUTION RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 16-18 AND ADOPTING IN LIEU THEREOF A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF LEE'S SUMMIT, MISSOURI TO PARTICIPATE IN COOPERATIVE PURCHASING PROGRAMS FOR FISCAL YEAR 2017.
Key Issues:
When the City Council packet was prepared for the September 15, 2016 meeting, an older draft of the Resolution intended to be presented for adoption was attached to the City Council packet. The older draft did not contain important legal language and did not adequately address the scope of the Resolution.
The correct Resolution has now been included in this packet item for review and consideration by the City Council. The correct Resolution will authorize the City's participation in cooperative purchasing programs with the entites listed in Section 1 of the Resolution in addition to any contracts entered into pursuant to Section 2 of the Resolution, provided that the contracts were established in accordance with the laws and regulations applicable to the establishing entity, so long as they are also established consistent with the policies adopted by the City's current purchasing policy and the laws of the State of Missouri. The authorization is limited to Fiscal Year 2017, meaning that a new Resolution will need to be adopted for cooperative participation in Fiscal Year 2018.
Additionally, the correct Resolution will rescind the previously-adopted incorrect Resolution.
