Issue/Request:
An Ordinance awarding the bid for Project No. 1093 for the Raintree Spillway Bridge Deck Rehabilitation Project to Concrete Strategies, LLC. in the amount of $1,161,870.65, and authorizing the City Manager to execute an agreement for the same.
Key Issues:
· An inspection of the existing bridge determined that the aging 15-span multi-celled reinforced concrete solid slab on concrete walls bridge requires improvements due to deteriorating superstructure and substructure including end bents, wing walls, intermediate bents, and their connections to the superstructure slab. There is concern that high water levels could get behind the structure and wash out the approach roadway fill.
· The Raintree Spillway Bridge Deck Rehabilitation (Project No. 1093) designed by Great River Engineering will repair the aging bridge by removing the deteriorated sections through milling and hydro demolition and then repairing those areas as needed at either partial or full depth sections.
· The project will be funded by the voter-approved 2017 CIP Sales Tax Renewal.
· Public Works Engineering issued an advertisement for bids for the construction of Project No. 1093 on May 8th,2025, in accordance with state and federal statutes and local policies.
· Concrete Strategies, LLC. was determined to be the lowest responsive and responsible bidder by City staff.
· The City and Contractor desire to enter into an agreement for Project No. 1093.
