Title
Presentation of the Missouri Innovation Campus Aerospace Academy Collaboration between Summit Tech Academy, the University of Central Missouri and the City of Lee's Summit
Body
Within the Ignite! Strategic Plan framework, one critical success factor that has been identified is Collaborative Relations with Educational Partners establishing a goal to enhance and plan for educational opportunities to support economic development. The Missouri Innovation Campus Aerospace Academy Collaboration between Summit Tech Academy (STA) and the University of Central Missouri (UCM) have identified seven potential high wage and high demand career paths within the aviation field. The close proximity of the Lee's Summit Municipal Airport to STA provides a unique opportunity for collaboration and synergy that could be beneficial to both groups. As part of the ongoing conversations, there could be the opportunity for a phased approach to locating educational facilities at the Airport.
Lee's Summit Public Works Department has participated with STA since 2002 with their semester long Principals of Engineering course. The Aerospace Academy provides another opportunity for continued collaboration.
