In accordance with Code of Ordinances, Article V - Boards, Commissions and Committees, Section 2-262 Election and Duties of the Chair
The chair of any new or reorganized board, commission or committee shall be appointed by the Mayor; thereafter, the chair of each board, commission or committee shall be elected by the members of the board, commission or committee at the first meeting of such body during the month of July of each year or as soon thereafter as is practical.
