Issue/Request:
An Ordinance approving a Specialized Aviation Service Organization "SASO" agreement between the City of Lee's Summit, Missouri and Rebel Aviation, inc. for a period of 2 years with continuing options for renewal to perform flight training services at the Kansas City/Lee’s Summit Regional Airport and authorizing the Mayor to execute an agreement for the same.

Key Issues:
Rebel Aviation, Inc. has been in operations since 2017. This renewal will be an opportunity to transition from a FBO agreement into a SASO agreement. The new SASO agreements have been reviewed by our on-call Aviation law firm and has been updated with the required Federal Provisions.

Proposed Committee Motion:
I move to recommend to City Council for approval of An Ordinance approving a Specialized Aviation Service Organization agreement between the City of Lee's Summit, Missouri and Rebel Aviation, inc. for a period of 2 years with continuing options for renewal to perform flight training services at the Kansas City/Lee’s Summit Regional Airport and authorizing the Mayor to execute an agreement for the same.



Background:
Rebel Aviation has been operating on the Airport since 2017 performing Flight Training services located on the airport.

Impact/Analysis:
Flight training services add value to the Airport and help support pilots based at the Airport and provide a service to those interested in learning to fly or to make aviation their career.
