Title
An Ordinance authorizing the City Manager to purchase Property, Casualty and Liability Insurance for FY27, where the total expenditure less than $1,286,000, and authorizing the execution of any necessary documents for the City of Lee's Summit, Missouri. (F&BC 6/1/26)

Body
The City purchases property and casualty insurance at the beginning of the fiscal year. Lockton Insurance acting as our broker puts our business out to the market and collects information from interested vendors. At times, the answers from insurance companies arrive too late just before the deadline. The ordinance authorizes the City Manager to purchase appropriate insurance as long as the cost is within the anticipated budget of $1,286,000.

Background:
The city purchases insurance every year, this ordinance helps avoid, when possible the need for a emergency ordinance or special meeting to ensure there is no lapse in coverage.
