Body
Issue/Request:
An Ordinance approving the use of a Cooperative Contract between Jackson County, Missouri and Guier Fence Company, to purchase fencing materials, repairs, and installation as needed and authorizing the City Manager to execute documents to use the same for the City.
Key Issues:
• City departments have the need for new installation or repair of fences around City properties.
• Pursuant to the City’s procurement policy, the City has used the Jackson County contract for fencing with Guier Fence for many years.
• The current cooperative contract with Guier Fence Company expired at the end of March, and Jackson County issued a bid and awarded the new contract to Guier Fence.
• The City needs approval from the City Council to use the Cooperative Contract because the City may spend more than $50,000 annually under the contract.
Background:
The City has used the contract for many years and had success with the Guier Fence.
The four year historical spend for the City with Guier Fence is: FY22 (YTD) $25,000, FY21 $79,000, FY20 $25,000, and FY19 $80,000.
The expensed funds are approved through the regular budget process or as part of a project.
