Issue/Request:

An Ordinance approving Amendment No. 4 to the budget for the Fiscal Year ending June 30, 2025, as adopted by Ordinances 9936, 9937, 9938, 9939, and 9940, by amending the authorized expenditures for the City.

 

Key Issues:

-Police Opioid Settlement Funds - expense for the Safe Passage program, add spending authority to Fund 265 Grants and Settlements in the amount of $40,000

-Downtown Public Safety Enhancements- $1,500,000 from the Unallocated General Fund balance to the Public Safety Equipment Replacement Program(PSERP) fund for the purpose of purchasing equipment including mirrors, portable cameras and street barricades.  The transfers line item in the Finance department budget will be increased for the PSERP transfer and the spending authority in the PSERP fund will be increased for the purchases.

-Increase the spending authority in Creative Services $100,000  from the Unallocated General Fund balance for Citywide Communications Strategic Plan

-Increase the spending authority in the Public Safety Equipment Program (PSERP) to use funds set aside for the replacement of officer issued firearms, $21,492.  The balance needed for the purchase will come from the Public Safety Sales Tax (PSST)
