An Ordinance approving Change Order No. 6 to the Agreement for the construction of Project No. 721-1 for the Water Main Replacement FY23 Project to Wiedenmann, Inc., for an increase in the contract price of $226,148.77 for a revised agreement amount of $4,826,907.19 and authorizing the City Manager to execute the same.


Key Issues:
· Pursuant to Ordinance No. 9878, the City and Wiedenmann, Inc., (hereinafter "Contractor") entered into an Agreement for the construction of the Water Main Replacement: FY23 Project, Project No. 721-1, (hereinafter "Base Agreement").
· The water mains serving St. Luke's East have experienced several breaks over the last few years. The lines serving the hospital are considered "critical infrastructure" by the utility and are on our list for immediate replacement.
· During construction, it was uncovered that multiple mains were not connected as shown on the plans. It was also discovered that two water lines were not connected. Water Utilities instructed the contractor to connect the mains and water lines.
· The City and Contractor modified the Base Agreement, as amended, per Change Order 1 through city council - Ordinance 9913 in accordance with the City's Procurement Policy.
· The City and Contractor modified the Base Agreement, as amended, per Change Orders 2 through 6 administratively in accordance with the City's Procurement Policy.
· The City desires to modify the Base Agreement, as amended, to increase the agreement amount to connect two main water lines and water mains ("Change Order No. 6").
