An Ordinance submitting to the electors of the City of Lee's Summit, Missouri, at the election on November 3, 2026, the question of whether the City of Lee's Summit should provide for residential city-wide solid waste collection services.
Key Issues:
- The City of Lee's Summit, Missouri ("City"), is authorized under Missouri Law to provide for the storage, collection, transportation, processing, and disposal of solid wastes.
- On April 15, 2025, the City Council approved the City's intention to provide for residential solid waste collection activities for single-family dwellings up to and including four-plexes within the corporate boundaries of the City; and provided notice thereof on June 18, 2025 to current solid waste private entities.
- The City Council at a regular session on December 2, 2025, directed Staff to place the issue before the voters for public advisement.
