Title

An Ordinance changing the name of a street from SE Cobey Lane to SE Greenway Street, two street stubs located along SE David Road and SE Gillette Street in the Cobey Creek residential subdivision all within the City of Lee's Summit, Missouri.  (CEDC 8/10/22)

Body

Issue/Request:

The applicant proposes to change the name of two existing street stubs from SE Cobey Ln to SE Greenway St in the Cobey Creek subdivision.  The existing street name was established by the original developer of the subdivision as part of Cobey Creek, 1st Plat.  The name has a familial connection to the original developer.  The subdivision has since changed hands and is under control of the applicant, who desires a different name for the subject street.  There are no lots currently addressed using the existing street name, so the proposed street name change impacts no property owner outside of the applicant.  Staff has no objections to the street name change.

Proposed Motion:  I move to direct staff to present an Ordinance for consideration by the City Council to approve Appl. #PL2022-232 - STREET NAME CHANGE - proposed change from SE Cobey Ln to SE Greenway St; Clayton Properties Group, Inc., applicant.

Background:

The street name change process as outlined under UDO Section 2.430 calls for an application to come before the CEDC in cases where both the affected property owner(s), in this case the applicant, and city staff agree to the street name change.  If the change is also agreeable to the CEDC, staff is then directed to prepare an ordinance for consideration of the change by the City Council.
