An Ordinance approving the use of a cooperative contract between Sourcewell and John Deere Construction Sales to purchase heavy equipment and accessories and authorizing the City Manager to execute the same by and on behalf of the City.
Key Issues:
-The Fleet Department purchases Heavy Equipment for use in the Public Works and Water Departments.
-The purchase is funded through VERP
Proposed Council Motion:
FIRST MOTION: I move for second reading of an Ordinance approving the use of a Cooperative Contract between Sourcewell and John Deere Construction Sales to purchase heavy equipment and accessories and authorizing the City Manager to execute the same by and on behalf of the City.
SECOND MOTION: I move for adoption of an Ordinance approving the use of a Cooperative Contract between Sourcewell and John Deere Construction Sales to purchase heavy equipment and accessories and authorizing the City Manager to execute the same by and on behalf of the City.
Background:
The City previously purchased heavy equipment using a State of Missouri contract with multiple vendors. That contract expired and has not been rebid. The City searched to find another option to acquire the equipment.
The initial purchase on this new contract, managed by the Fleet Division, will be two John Deere back hoes for a sum of $220,991.09.
